MIKE WILLIAMS PROP HANGS HIS YS160 FREESTAYLE MACHINE WITH OPTIMIX-30

MIke Williams who is well know on the show circuit as well as in F3A, 3D and Freestyle circles has joined the OPTITEAm for 2010 and will be using a range of OPTI products including 2 and 4 stroke 30% nitro fuels and the OPTIPROTECT range of products.

MIke will be testing some new blends for OPTI during 2010 so keep an eye on him! Mike is happy to discuss his views of OPTIFUEL and as everyone knows he would only give an honest opinion.

Pascal BRIANCHON a member of the French National F3C Team has joined the increasing roll of honour as an OPTI-TEAM Pilot. Pascal is well known in France and will hopefully in the French Team going out the Muncie later this year for the FAI World F3C Championships.

Pascal will be flying OPTIMIX-30 in his machines and OPTIFUEL™ will be supporting him via our French distributor FROGS. Pascal will be flying later this month in the Trophy of France in Maubeuge with the French Team.

Exciting Distributor News…….

From 1^st July 2009 all HPI brands will be supplied to the UK model industry by HPI Europe directly.

Up until this time Mirage will continue to supply the UK trade customers in the normal manner.

HPI Europe currently handles all of the HPI Group brands and sells via distributors into the whole of Europe – Mirage is the UK distributor within this network.

With the emphasis on product, value, quality and service, HPI Europe will absorb the Mirage operation and supply the UK retail market from its purpose-built premises in Derbyshire – as well as continue to supply distributors throughout the rest of the EU.

This is a huge, positive step forward for HPI as a brand, HPI as a product and HPI as a range for the UK model shops.

The range of brands currently available from Mirage will reduce down to the core brands, the brands that are active within the HPI Group – HPI, HB, Edit, Elements, Maverick and Merlin. The latest top-spec fuel range to hit the market - OPTIFUEL™ - will continue to be marketed and supplied into the UK by HPI Europe.

Unfortunately this means that some superb brands will not be available under the new arrangement. Nosram, Tornado, Xray, Hudy and O’Donnell have been fantastic brands for Mirage and the supplier/distributor relationship has been excellent. Each of these brands will find an alternative route to the UK market, and we are sure that they will continue to flourish – we all part on good terms and we all wish them every success in the future.

With the focus very much on HPI as a brand, watch out for some superb new products – not just new, fresh and exciting kits, but more ancillary parts, more bits and pieces and more opportunity to expand the brand into other areas. The Product and R&D teams are already busy looking into potential new products for HPI the world over.

The OPTI-TEAM development pilots are busy working a new fuel blends that will offer even more power, run even cooler and produce the very highest ever available performance from model nitromethane based fuels.

The policy at OPTIFUEL™ is ‘development’, and the fuel development pilots, both UK national champions are working hard on daily testing, gathering data on various machines and airframe configurations from flybarless TREX700 to YS170CDi F3A machines.

The aim is to bring these benefits to the weekend sports pilot as well as top level competition pilots. More power, cooler temperatures, smoother running, lower idles and consistent needle transitions, this comes from testing, collecting data and continual evaluation. We are the brand to watch and we are taking this very seriously indeed.

OPTIFUEL™ BRINGS A NEW AND PROFESSIONAL APPROACH TO THE HOBBY.

Breaking News:

Stuart and Adrian Smith from Hobby Hanger two of the new very committed breed of 3D Pilots join the OPTI-TEAM and will fly OPTIMIX-30 at the 3D Worlds and XFC in USA. Also joined the growing brand is Mike Freeman (mad Mike) and Pete Roper, Pete is getting back into 3D and will be burning lots of fuel training for the 3D Worlds in Spain.

OPTIFUEL will have a massive showing at the 3D Event in Spain with 15 of the top Spanish 3D flyers running OPTIMIX-30 and several if not all the UK contingent flying OPTIMIX-30 in Spain.

OPTIFUEL are just about to launch a new range of OPTIMIX-MV four stroke products. These will be available from May 2009 online or in your local retailer.

OPTIMIX-05MV 4-stroke, OPTIMIX-10MV 4-stroke, OPTIMIX-15MV 4-stroke and OPTIMIX-20MV 4-stroke. These fuels utilise a medium viscosity oil from KLOTZ, which is 275 centistokes unlike our OPTIMIX-4-stroke range which uses 75 centistokes oil from KLOTZ. This is ideal for users of four-stroke engines that have been used to a more ‘traditional’ blend of fuel. This works well in Saito’s, RCV and other four-stroke engines including OS. Not ideal for two-strokes but will operate satisfactorily and we would suggest YS four-stroke users use the standard OPTIMIX-20 or 30 four stroke mix.  OPTIMIX-MV 4-stroke is a good choice for scale where power is not ultimately required and sport flying. OPTIMIX-4-stroke will be available in 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% nitromethane with 20% oil. As with all OPTIFUEL™ blends the fuel is supplied in 5 litres jerry cans not 3.78 litres or 4.5 litres as per our competitors. Available online as a four pack box or a 2 pack box, see website.

OPTIFUEL has released car fuels this week and these will be available via Mirage Racing exclusively. There will be two types OPTIMIX RTR (ready to run) and OPTIMIX RACE. The Race will be available in 25% nitro and 30% nitro versions and 2.5lt and 5lt containers. The oil is the very latest KLOTZ oils suitable for this extreme application and is fully synthetic. OPTIMIX RACE 25 and OPTIMIX RACE 30 are designed for experience race drivers and developed with Graham Alsop a well known top level driver in the UK. With 9% oil the fuel produces maximum power but not suitable for general RTR use unless user is experienced.

The OPTIMIX RTR fuels are available in 1lt, 2.5lt and 5lt pack sizes with 16%, 20% and 25% nitro options. Again a top class KLOTZ oil is used and again it is fully synthetic but at 15% to afford higher levels of protection and a wider 'sweet' spot re tuning. Adam Skelding of HPI Europe Ltd has been involved in the design and testing of the OPTIMIX RTR range, as he says for a RTR fuel the power is 'awsome'!

OPTIFUEL^tm is now available on Holland and Belguim via RC Market (see home page for link). Alex is both a stockest and distributor so he will be suppling into the model trade within his territory.

John O'Rourke top Irish 3D pilot has joined the OPTI-TEAM as a Pro Pilot and will become the main distributor of OPTIFUEL^TM in Ireland starting from February 1st 2009. Contact details will go up on the OPTI-SITE in due course. John will stock helicopter mixes initally but this will extend to aero mixes very shortly.

Great news for Irish modelers, John and OPTIFUEL^TM, the brand just gets stonger by the day.

RAQUEL BELLOT TOP SPANISH 3D PILOT JOINS OPTI-TEAM

Raquel has been flying for a while and is one of the top 3D Spanish pilots and the only female pilot at the 3D Masters in 2008. Raquel will be flying OPTIMiX-30 in her Align 700 Pro. Raquel was placed as follows in recent events:-

Keith has joined the 2009 OPTI-TEAM line up using OPTIMIX-30 in his YS DZ170. Keith has a long history of competing at the very top of F3A and has represented the English team many times. Recent results include:-

2008 1st Place FAI class, BMFA Nationals

2008 UK team member F3A European Championships, Italy

2008 GBRCAA league champion

Keith has been working with OPTIFUEL™ to develop the YS Blends which the GBR/CAA is starting to use for 2009 as an alternative option. For 2010 Keith is using OH2510 which is specifically designed for the YS170CDi engine as used in the OPTI Axiome seen above.

Steven Gerrard has joined the OPTITEAM as a 3D sponsored pilot using OPTIMIX-30 driven by Klotz and produced in the UK.

Steven has been very successful in the 3D arena and is the current 3DX UK champion. Steven is sponsored by Align, V Blades, Spartan RC, Spektrum, Model Avionics, Thunder Power and Fast Lad Performance and now OPTIFUEL also.

OPTITEAM wish Steven all the best for the balance of 2008 and 2009 where he will no doubt be right at the top of the 3D ladder.

OPTIFUEL has signed up three new factory backed pilots in two disiplines.

Peter Scoles - F3A Aircraft pilot joins the team for 2009 with a new airframe and engine flying in FAI class. Peter is the current Masters Champion and we are looking forward to working with Peter in 2009. Peter will be using both Optimix-20 and Optimix-30YS

Matt Gill - 3D Helicopters - Scotland. Matt has joined the team and is going to campaign hard in Scotland and Northern UK in 2009 running 2 - Align 700's and 1 Align 600. Matt will be trying hard to become the Scottish 3D champion in 2009 using Optimix-30 - good luck from the Opti Team.

Shane Marshall aged twelve has joined the Opti Team as a sponsored pilot and will be flying demonstrations in 2009. Shane has gained his 'B' Certificate already and won the Gold Medal at the BMFA Nationals this year and won the Windsock Trophy. Well done Shane and good luck in 2009.

Won the F3C Heicopter Nationals at Barkston Heath this weekend with straight wins on Sunday and one win on Sunday so a straight overall win using OPTIFUEL. The winning mix was Optimix-30LS a new low smoke fuel Dave and Optifuel have been developing and soon to be available to the all.

Until the end of December Optifuel will ship a box of 2 bottles instead of 4 and part subsidse the delivery charge so you try before committing to a full box. Coolpower and Magnum users will be able to switch stright to Optifuel without any needle changes!
